A breath of fresh air

Looking out the window at all I can see

The dark vista view of the urban jungle

Focused on the shadows as they move around

The dance of daylight avoiding the perspective of my vision

I walk down this street as the light bathes me in warmth

The walls close in to protect me from the wind

I see the man looking out of the window in contempt

The darkness creeps so close to the window he looks out

The shadows dance as the footsteps fill the void as she passes

The path so bright for her entitlement

Begrudged I watch as silent words escape my lips

I watch her walk away

The day is great as I work at what I love

Time for the love in what I do

Seeing the time has passed to quickly

I walk home down the passage I so choose

The day drags on as I wait in wallow

The light fills the day for more hours then exist

I see the time and know she passes soon

The smiles drives me insane that life is so good for some

I see him as I pass, the creases on his face show as he watches the world go by

I smile as I’ve been down that road, that path

I stop as I know what I must do

To be ready is to be always waiting

She stops, why does she play with the shadows

Is this a game to set me up to fail

What is going on, what does she hope to accomplish?

I’m tired of these games and false bravado

A knock at the door and footsteps behind

The portal opens to see the hollow figure

The smiles penetrates the darkness

The wind carries the scent of change

I slept in today, the light flooded my room while I lay still

I woke refreshed, the feeling of a bed with clean sheets

I walk to the window and notice the path is a glow

The grass reaches up for the sun rays with the flowers

Walking back I see the window ajar

The room shifts with movement and the smell of fresh flowers

The man is dancing, the smile as the dust jumps up around him

A life revitalised

I see in the window the reflection of the room

I see the face as it looks back at me

The mood I set that held me back now watches shackled down

I see myself for on the air the moves the dust, the light that reflects the glass panes

I see myself

I opened my eyes and took a breath of fresh air

A life renewed and handed back on a platter of hope

The darkness is now an old friend, long forgotten

She walked on by like the days of old

When she was the light of my life

When she goes and when she journeyed

She came back with the light and a wind of change

She came back with a breath of fresh air.
